Okay, big post my bad. This is the writing for what I've decided on as far as hair goes:
Titania will be wearing a crown/headband thing for costume so her hair needs to be down, for simplicity I think I will just do some loose curls/waves and pin back the front section if it's going to get in the way. Her hair will also need glitter because she's a fairy and hairspray for hold in it.
Oberon will need some glitter spray in his but nothing apart from that really. He will have a crown/headband thing as well
Puck has changed the most seeing as 'he' is now a 'she' but not to worry. I sat down with the actress yesterday and discussed options with her - did she want it up, down, to the side? that kind of thing. She wanted it out of her face but apart from that she had no preference. She plays Puck as a kind of mischievous, curious little fairy and I wanted to incorporate that into her hair. I decided that too bunches at the back of her head - like school girls almost - would be convenient and suitable for her part. We tried it out and I thought it looked too flat and boring so I added two french plaits that lead back to her bunches to add texture. There will be glitter spray and possibly feathers in her hair as well.
Hermia's hair has to look disheveled but as if it was once well kept and pretty which is difficult seeing as the audience doesn't see her earlier on. I noticed that she pushes her hair back a lot when she is acting so I thought it would be more practical for it to be up. I am toying between giving her a half up half down secured with a ribbon of putting it in a bun and pulling it apart. I have bought a green ribbon to match her dress.
Helena's hair has to look simple and plain, the actress didn't want her ears to show so I have had to keep that in mind while designing her look. After speaking to her I decided on a simple fishtail braid down her back, with a few strands pulled out at the front and a bit hanging out at the back. I got the inspiration for front of the hairstyle from a Victorian book I was looking at, and I used a braid because it seemed to fit Helena's character better than a bun.
Lysander isn't very exciting, all I have to do for his hair is apply a small amount of gel and then ruffle it up.
Demetrius is more of less the same as Lysander but the actor has longer hair his won't be as messy, at one point it was discussed that he would take out a comb and restyle his hair. I'm not sure if that is being used anymore.
